NAB 2010 rumors from panasonic

The rumors from Panasonic here before NAB is that they will be releasing some new cameras.

They will release a competition to the still camera Canon 5D which many use for video.
A new AG-HPX3100 wich is a follow from the AG-HPX3000.
there should also be some new 3D products.
A shoulder cam with a 1/3 inch full HD chip that can record in AVC-intra 50 and 100 Mbit and will cost around 13000 us dollars

The team behind the very usefull player VLC is working on a NLE software, that is going to be interesting to follow, maybe it can also be used as a handy tool to convert video before putting it into Avid :-)

Media composer v. 4.0.5

Christmas present from Avid, or kind of, they released an update of media composer with some bug fixes, now it is version 4.0.5, you can see the list of fixes here: http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=348265&Hilite=

If you are running on a mac and run in to an error when installing, click ok and install again, this will fix the problem :-)

Media composer on snow Leopard

For those of you that has been trying to get media composer to run on snow leopard, you should get the new update to version 4.0.4 that should solve your problem.

Sony XNCAM

In the early 2010 Sony will come out with this new handy camera called NXCAM, it can record AVCHD up to 24MBPS (50i or 25P), in 1980x1080P and 720/50P and MPEG2 SD

It will also be possible to record to a Memory stick pro Dou, or an optional 128GB Flash Memory (Hybrid recording) annd with this one on the camera you can record upto 11 hours in 24 MBPS.

It will come with the new 29,5 mm wide angel "G lens", and it will have 3 x 1/3-inch CMOS sensor

It also have:
GPS Metadata
HD-SDI out
HDMI out
Uses InfoLITHIUM L series batteri - the same as HVR-Z5E, HVR-Z1E, HVR-V1E and DSR-PD170P

It seems that this camera will be competing with the Panasonic HMC-150 camera.
