Media Composer 2.8.1

For those who has a valid assurance contract with Avid, they can now download the media composer version 2.8.1, is seems that it fixes some issues with Avid Unity ISIS and Avid Interplay. There should not be any other difference between the veriosn 2.8 and 2.8.1 than that.
If you are one of the lucky ones, you can find it in the download center.

  • More news on the "new thinking" from Avid, at a Pre NAB2008 held at the universal studios holywood, they told at selected group of people some new things, one that we already know is that the will stop selling Xpress Pro, so the software line will be Media ComposerSymphonyAvid DS
But the new think at this metting was on the hardware side, they are going to launch a new mojo, so the hardware line is going to be:Mojo SDI Mojo DXNitirs DX
Abot the Media composer, the new version will be able to run on Nitris DX or Mojo hardware, the new mojo DX comes with SD, HD SDI, HDMI and analog.
The Symphony Nitris DX is for those who need to edit in 2K and 4K among other things, the Nitris can run up to 8 track real time in HD, with effects. It has HD SDI, SD SDI, HDMI analog composite and analog component.
I'm sure there will be more news about this after Avid have had ther eNAB event on the coming sunday.
